Stridsland Bullship Handlebar
The iconic illuminati-esque one-piece design pioneered by Tom Ritchey in the late '70s, called the Bullmoose handlebar, has a deep history rooted in the early days of mountain biking. As a result of too many slipped bars and weak stem clamps (once even costing Tom a win at the Repack race, so they say), it was designed as a strong and simple cockpit for some of the first dedicated mountain bikes.
The STRIDSLAND Bullship bar is yet another modern take on a classic design <3 With a respectably average 25° backsweep, significant rise and width, and an astounding lack of adjustability, this bar is sure to put you in a good spot for the purest form of leisurely bicycle enjoyment.
- Ideal for getting upright and comfortable on those older 26″ builds, which tend to have a rather low front end.
- Effectively eliminates any cases of severe spacer stack on your MAMIL-mobile.
- Makes for a brilliant parent-bike cockpit with its kid-friendly grip area and ample thigh clearance.
Specifications:
- 850 mm wide
- 25° backsweep
- 7° upsweep
- 120 mm rise (160 mm to barends)
- 45° stem angle
- 1-1/8″ threadless
- 55mm stack height at clamp
- Approx. 1000 g
- 4130 Cr-Mo
- Post-weld heat treated
Available in Black or Raw. The black ones are ED coated only, which is a thin, smooth layer of black paint. The Raw bars are polished and clear powder-coated.
Notes:
- If you're looking at this bar and trying to make sense of the specs to see if it works for you, just picture the grip area being directly above and inline with the steering axis. It's very similar, reach-wise, to an Anchor Bar with a 50mm stem.
- The Bullship bar can easily be chopped down with a hacksaw, but I would recommend giving the full width a chance, and no narrower than 750mm if you must :)
- Please be mindful if mounting on a carbon steerer. Although the clamping area has been deburred, there may be some abrasive surfaces that can cause violent explosions when coming into contact with carbon.
- The Raw finish will likely develop some positive patina (rust) over time, especially if you treat them roughly, chip the paint, and live in a humid climate. You might even be lucky enough that it has some pre-patina from the factory #inrustwetrust.
