We already talked about Surly bikes when they launched their Krampus model ( Loose Cycles presents: Surly Krampus, the bomber among travel bikes ). It is one of the brands , who, because of their imaginations in the past today enjoys a legendary reputation . Their specialty is steel frames , intended mainly for mountain biking and touring. The Midnight Special subsequently evolved from the latter category, which, despite its more competition-oriented geometry compared to all other models, still boasts mounting points for luggage racks, places for additional bottle cages and other accessories.
About the Midnight Special bike
The Midnight Special is basically a very classic bike, intended for use on both the road and gravel roads and slightly worse trails. The geometry is comparable to other bikes in this genre, but due to the structure of the frame and steel fork, it offers a slightly more comfortable ride than the competition. It is only available as a frame, which means that each one is assembled to order, and despite the fact that there are already quite a few of them on Slovenian gravel roads, no two are the same.
Today we present a version that is more aimed at road and good terrain riding than off-road riding. That's why it rolls on 700c wheels, and not 650b like most of the others we've put together. The Sram Rival 2×12 AXS drivetrain provides a slightly more "road" gear ratio.
