Ibis Ripmo

Ibis Ripmo

In the late 1970s, most mountain bikers were connected by music, psychedelic substances, and of course, bikes . They were also connected by the fact that quality mountain bike parts were lacking and had to be made.

So they created all sorts of creations in garages, and in some of these garages, companies were founded that are still shaping the future of cycling today. Among the creators was then too Scot Nicol , who, like many others, decided to try his luck and start a bicycle brand without any money .

While most other brands have been bought out and taken over by larger players in the cycling industry, Ibis has remained true to its original philosophy. From 1981 until today, they can still boast that that the brand is owned by its employees , without large corporations .

About the model

Ripmo is currently the most A well-known model from the Ibis brand , it perfectly covers the two most popular categories: trail and enduro. It is also the first Ibis model to be introduced in a cheaper aluminum version years ago, which has clearly paid off.

The main characteristics are: 29-inch wheels, 147 millimeters of rear travel and 160 millimeters of front travel. The most important information is, of course, shock absorber mounting – DW-link . This is designed by the legendary Dave Weagle , and similar designs can be seen on brands like Pivot and Devinci.

The Ibis Ripmo we are presenting this time is proof that investing in quality components is worth it. Many of the parts on the bike have served us well in the past and we are confident that they will continue to serve us well.

The V2 carbon frame is adorned with old and new components from proven quality brands . British Hope takes care of the braking and drivetrain, the fork and shock are MRP for a comfortable and controlled ride, the gear set is Shimano XT, and the wheels are DT Swiss.

Other components , who deserve mention , are : seatpost, crank and grips, PNW, titanium handlebar WHY Cycles, and valves and fidlock bottle Peaty's.

Master Tine and Ibis Ripmo

For whom?

In our opinion, the Ripmo is the ideal bike for Slovenian terrain , It adapts perfectly to all terrains and will easily overcome both alpine singletrack and “sloppy” lines in the bike park . The aluminum version is the ideal first bike for someone who wants to buy something that will serve them well for many years. The carbon version is for someone who wants a little added value and (maybe?) a nicer look.
